I'm not an animator, but the one thing (among dozens) that I quickly thought about is rigs. My guy, I've been using proprietary tools and engines for the past 8 years, I know how creating a model works, whether its in maya, 3ds max, blender, etc. You do know they use those tools for creating champion models right? Sure but you're not porting anything, you have the source files, sure you'll need to readjust parts of it to work with the animations for the league client, but its not a case of taking an asset out of a game and then trying to edit it, you're just changing where you export it from the source and the PC league team already knows how to work with those files It's really simple, but they are just lazy.įirstly, who said 5 minutes? secondly, you're not using the assets you've already exported to the unity client, you're using the raw files in Maya or 3DS Max and exporting them directly to league, you do know they use those tools for creating champion models right?Īs someone who works in games, even porting an asset from a previous version of the same game is literally a pain and can take weeks, not including all of the QA required for it. Yeah man, it really only takes about 5 minutes to "hand off" all of the assets from one engine and port it over to leagues proprietary engine.
